I was on Facebook yesterday and saw a post from my cousin, Lisa Calhoun Ervin who lives in the Memphis, TN area. She posted that she was fixing Sausage and Peppers for dinner and that it was one of her favorite dishes. It sounded so good that I asked her to send me her recipe so that I could share it with you.  Thanks, Lisa, for the very tasty meal!

This was a dish served at my wedding. I’m not a fan of Italian sausage but this is sooo darn good!

2 pks Italian Sausage, cut into chunks
2 Bell Peppers, sliced
1 Onion, sliced
1 Tbsp minced Garlic
1/2 cup Red Cooking Wine
1/2 stick (1/4 cup) Butter
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Italian Seasoning

Preheat oven to 350.

Put all ingredients in a 9×13 baking dish and mix to coat. Cover and bake for about an hour or until sausage is done. I usually stir it around about half way through cooking to make sure everything is coated well.

I serve with brown rice or saffron (yellow) rice.
